LEARN MORE ABOUT HA AUSTIN
For a long time, Ha put off using the artistic side of her brain and pursued a path in science and healthcare. She wandered into a ceramics classroom one fine day and was immediately overtaken by the endless possibilities and freedom to explore and express her artistic side. Since relocating to Oregon in June of 2009, she has focused on crystalline glazes and Sgraffito techniques in high-fire kilns. The more she learned, the more she realized that working in clay combined science and art and she found herself right where she wanted to be.
Ha Austin has participated in the LO Festival of the Arts - Art in the Park for at least 8 years and in 2024 won Curator’s Choice Award. Ha has also participated in the Holiday Markets at the Arts Council of LO and has been a vendor at the LO Farmers’ Market for at least 10 years. She has been an active member of the Oregon Potters Association since 2012 and will be joining the board of Art in the Pearl in 2025.
You can find Ha’s work at the following shows, at the coast at Mossy Creek Pottery and locally at Sidestreet Arts Gallery where she is a working member.
Ha is a Lake Owsego artist and served as our first PRESIDENT during our inaugural Lake Oswego Open Studios in 2023. Ha will continue in this capacity.
